Fifteen years ago, e-mail, video conferencing, mobile telephony and the internet were still relatively unknown. And no one had heard of GPS, webcam, DVD, MP3, flatscreen or Blackberry. Fifteen years from now, there will be technological developments of which we have no notion today.
What we do know about the future is that what motivates people to work remains the same. Doing something useful, developing talents, achieving results and gaining recognition will always be the driving forces behind work.
If people remain the same, then finding, attracting and binding people will remain the main concern of businesses. This means that by 2020 managers will need competencies which fit in with these demands.
